Designing Regional Logotypes (Workshop Room Oak)
The diversity of scripts in India, poses a challenging opportunity for professionals and enthusiasts of type. While it can be exciting to explore letter structures in different scripts, it can also be daunting to unite the different scripts under a common visual language. While designing a multi-script typefamily or a coherent brand language, designers have to balance the nuances of different scripts along with attributes of the common visual language. To understand this balancing act, participants will create sets of letterforms across 1 or 2 Indian scripts in a particular style. They will be guided through the fundamentals of designing with multiple scripts while learning the craft of drawing letters.
