Biography
Pinkish Shah is a Founding Partner and Design Principal of S+PS Architects that he co-founded with Shilpa Gore-Shah in 1997. They are engaged in the study, reflection and practice of Design, Architecture and Urbanity. Their design approach is that every project is unique, and that the design should evolve through the particular characteristics of each project. Their work is influenced by their interest in History, Pedagogy, Travel and Common Sense. The various national & international awards, publications, lectures and exhibitions are a byproduct of their work and testify to their evolving design sensibilities.
Pinkish recently edited a book – Sen Kapadia Architect -In Pursuance of Meanings that was published by CEPT University Press in late 2022. He was the Dean Of Academic Affairs at the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies at Juhu, Mumbai from 2017-21 and has taught there since 2002.
He is also co-founder of MAP, Mumbai Architecture Project, a collective of people with a shared interest in our built environment who intend to find different ways through which to learn, probe, discover and unearth new paths to discover ways of seeing the world around us.
Pinkish is an Alumni of the Sir J. J. College of Architecture, Mumbai and Gold Medalist of the University of Mumbai in 1992. He completed his Master of Architecture Degree with Distinction from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA. He has also attended the Post–Professional Program and Travel Fellowship chaired by Dr. Charles Moore at the University of Texas at Austin.
